JAMB Exposes Fraudulent Letter: UTME Results Remain Secure Amidst Social Media Scare
JAMB refutes controversy surrounding a fake letter that surfaced on social media, claiming that the outstanding 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results were compromised due to a cyber security breach.
In a recent turn of events, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has found itself embroiled in a controversy surrounding a fictitious letter that surfaced on social media. The letter, purportedly from the Board, claimed that the outstanding 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results were compromised due to a cyber security breach.

It further suggested that the Board was considering rescheduling the examination.
However, JAMB swiftly refuted these claims, asserting that the letter was a fabrication. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board’s Public Relations Officer, emphasized that the letter lacked the hallmarks of an official communication from JAMB. Notably, it was unsigned and failed to adhere to the Board’s established protocols.
“The results of the 2024 UTME and previous years remain intact,” Dr. Benjamin stated unequivocally.
“They are not stored in any cloud storage, and therefore, cannot be hacked by anyone,” he noted.
The Board suspects that the fraudulent letter was concocted by malicious actors seeking to undermine its reputation. Their motive appears to be extortion, as hapless candidates might be misled into paying for purported services related to result manipulation.

JAMB’s unassailable operational processes have been rigorously maintained, and the integrity of its examination results remains intact. The Board urges candidates and the public to disregard the false information circulating on social media.
As investigations continue, JAMB remains committed to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process for all aspiring tertiary education students. Candidates are advised to stay informed through official channels and avoid falling victim to scams.
In the wake of this incident, JAMB has reinforced its cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive data and maintain public trust. The Board encourages vigilance and encourages candidates to report any suspicious communications related to UTME results.
For further inquiries, candidates can visit JAMB’s official website or contact their regional offices.
