In a statement issued by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the JAMB spokesperson, the clarification was provided in response to numerous inquiries from candidates and the public regarding the use of HP pencils in the examination hall.
Dr. Benjamin emphasized that while the Board had previously prohibited the use of pencils and other banned materials due to their misuse, it has now approved the use of ordinary HP pencils for both the Mock-UTME and the main examination scheduled to commence on Friday, April 19, 2024.
Candidates are reminded to bring only one pencil to their respective examination centers and ensure they are not in possession of any other prohibited items.
