In a move responding to persistent advocacy from the student union, the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) in Kwara state has announced a reduction in tuition fees for the 2022/2023 academic session. The initial fees, which ranged between N138,240 and N254,640 for fresh students and N69,360 and N103,560 for returning students, have now been revised following discussions between the university's management and the student union.
President Joseph Ologundudu, who heads the university's student union, expressed his satisfaction with the management's decision. The revised fee structure was officially released on November 28 after the initial fees were disclosed on November 24 across the university's official social media channels. President Ologundudu extended his appreciation to the university management for the considerate adjustment, signaling relief for students who had voiced concerns over the affordability of education.
