Kaduna State Governor Approves New Retirement Age and Service Policy for Tertiary Institutions

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has approved a 65-year retirement age for academic staff and a 40-year service policy for non-teaching staff of state-owned tertiary institutions.

This decision follows a meeting between the Governor and leaders of the Joint Union of Tertiary Institutions (JUTIKS), which led to the suspension of a month-long strike.

The approval is part of Governor Sani's administration commitment to improving workers' welfare and revitalizing the education sector. The new policy is expected to enhance staff motivation, productivity, and retention in Kaduna's tertiary institutions.
