Kaduna State University Holds Global Entrepreneur Week Symposium

The Entrepreneurship Research and Development Centre-ERDC, Kaduna State University in collaboration with Reality Investment held a post-mortem Global Entrepreneurship Week Symposium on 18th December, 2023 at the 1000 Nasir el Rufa'i lecture theatre.

The Entrepreneurship Research and Development Centre-ERDC, Kaduna State University in collaboration with Reality Investment held a post-mortem Global Entrepreneurship Week Symposium on 18th December, 2023 at the 1000 Nasir el Rufa'i lecture theatre.

In his welcome address, the Director, of ERDC, Prof. Seth Akutson thanked the principal officers of the university for honoring the invitation. He said the aim is to glean into the activities of small and medium entrepreneurs for the year in review.

The vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Muhammad Bashir Ali urged the guests especially students to ask questions for them to learn. 

Goodwill messages from the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, Prof. Helen Andow, who was the immediate past Director of the ERDC said the center is an ongoing process of success story. She stressed that academic is important but skills are more important for the young ones to inculcate in the pursuit of earning a living.

Similarly, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Prof. Yusha'u Ango, the pioneer Director of the ERDC, explained that entrepreneurship skills are now an official course in universities. He traced the concept of developing the curriculum for degree programmes ahead of the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Guest Speaker and Consultant, reality Investment, Dr. Abubakar Wambai said the collaboration for this year's event is to create awareness and provide a template for entrepreneurs and time management among others. 

Highlights of the event included the exhibition of food by ten vendors and the presentation of awards to them.
