Kano Governor Settles Fees for 84 Medical Students, Certificate Withheld for Years

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has made a significant move to support the education of its citizens by settling a backlog of fees amounting to N2.24 billion for 84 Kano-sponsored medical students at Near East University.

One of the beneficiaries, Salma Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, recently received her certificate at the Government House in Kano after years of being withheld due to non-payment of tuition fees during the previous administration.

The certificates of these students were withheld due to the refusal of the Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje-led administration to settle their tuition fees. Governor Yusuf's intervention has brought relief to the students, enabling them to receive their certificates and pursue their medical careers.

Salma Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, who had been absent when her colleagues received their certificates, was accompanied by her siblings to the Government House to collect her certificate. This gesture by Governor Yusuf highlights his commitment to education and the welfare of Kano's citizens.

The governor's initiative aims to promote education and healthcare in the state by supporting talented students in pursuing their dreams. By settling the backlog of fees, Governor Yusuf has paved the way for these students to focus on their studies and contribute to the state's healthcare sector.

It's worth noting that Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, Salma's father, is a notable figure in Kano politics who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
