Kano State Sends Fifth Batch of Graduates on Foreign Scholarship to India

In a continued commitment to educational development, Kano State has airlifted the fifth batch of 50 first-class graduates to India for Master's Degree programs under the state-sponsored foreign scholarship initiative. The graduates, part of the 1,100 students sponsored by the Kano state government, departed from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to pursue advanced studies in various disciplines.

The Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Kofarmata, witnessed the departure alongside other government officials, emphasizing that this initiative aligns with the state's dedication to the 1,100 postgraduate scholarship program for 2023–2024. The selected students, who excelled as undergraduates, will pursue Master's Degrees at renowned universities, including Sharda, Symbiosis, Mewar, Sri Sai, Swarnnim, and Kalinga.

Dr. Kofarmata highlighted the students' anticipated contributions to bridging the manpower gap in the state and the nation. He revealed that the beneficiaries are expected to study in internationally competitive areas, fostering the acquisition of experience, skills, and knowledge for the socio-economic development of Kano State.

The Commissioner expressed pride in the positive feedback received, indicating that some beneficiaries had already been engaged as casual staff by their host institutions due to their exceptional academic performance. The students and their families celebrated the state government's commitment to education and commended Governor Yusuf for fulfilling the promises made to revive the scholarship policy.
