KASU Christian Community Commits 2026 Academic Year to God at Annual Thanksgiving Fellowship

The Christian Community in Campus (CCC), Kaduna State University (KASU), on Thursday, January 15, 2026, held its Beginning of the Year Thanksgiving Fellowship, ushering in the new academic calendar with prayers and expressions of gratitude.

The fellowship brought together academic and non-academic staff in an atmosphere of unity and reflection, with prayers offered for the advancement of the university and the overall well-being of its community.

The programme featured focused prayer sessions led by senior members of the institution. Professor Cyril Afuwai anchored the opening segment, offering intercessory prayers for the university’s principal officers, staff, and students. He prayed for divine guidance, favour, and increased productivity, declaring a year of progress and breakthrough for the institution.

The second prayer session was moderated by Mrs. Chat Danjuma, who gave thanks for the preservation of lives throughout the previous year. She committed the new academic session into God’s hands, praying for good health, protection, and the successful achievement of the university’s objectives.

The fellowship centred on the theme of thanksgiving, drawing inspiration from the biblical passage in Luke 17:11–19. Participants were reminded that sustained gratitude attracts divine blessings and institutional favour.

Beyond the spiritual engagements, members of the CCC Building Committee presented an update on the proposed CCC building project, reflecting the group’s commitment to both spiritual development and infrastructural growth.

The event concluded with closing remarks and a benediction delivered by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy, Innovation and Service Delivery), Professor Helen Afang Andow, who committed the KASU community to a year of fruitfulness and divine protection.
