The Management of Kaduna State University (KASU), led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, made a significant visit to the Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Police on Tuesday, 11th June 2024. This visit underscores KASU's commitment to enhancing security and fostering a safe environment for its community members.

During the visit, Prof. Musa articulated the university's eagerness to forge a close partnership with the Nigeria Police, emphasizing the critical role of security in safeguarding the lives of KASU's community members. He highlighted that this engagement is in line with the university's new strategic plan aimed at transforming KASU into a world-class institution.

"Partnering with security agencies is crucial for safeguarding the lives of our community members," stated Prof. Musa. He reaffirmed KASU's dedication to building on its achievements and fostering partnerships that promote safety and security. Prof. Musa also proposed training KASU security personnel under the expertise of the Kaduna police command. In return, he offered to enroll police officers in beneficial courses at KASU, including customized special courses tailored for the force.

The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Yahaya Sahabu Abubakar, who was recently promoted to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), praised the initiative. He commended KASU for recognizing the police as a vital partner in promoting institutional security.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, C.P. Ali Audu Dabigi, expressed his appreciation for the KASU delegation's efforts to strengthen the relationship between the university and the Kaduna Police Command. He emphasized the importance of maintaining this collaboration to enhance security within KASU, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large. C.P. Dabigi also highlighted the command's readiness for capacity building and expressed interest in enrolling police personnel in beneficial courses at KASU.
