The Vice Chancellor of KolaDaisi University, Ibadan (KDU-I), Professor Adeniyi Olatunbosun, emphasized the importance of considering accessibility for physically-challenged members within the university community during the foundation laying ceremony of the Senate building. The event took place last week, marking a significant step towards fulfilling the university's master plan.

Professor Olatunbosun noted that adherence to building rules, especially those ensuring easy access for the physically-challenged, is crucial for global standard alignment. The new Senate Building at KDU-I will incorporate provisions for such accessibility, ensuring compliance with established standards.

The Vice Chancellor highlighted the pivotal role of the Senate Building, describing it as the hub of the university’s administration. He expressed gratitude for the prompt efforts of the university's founder and chancellor, Chief Kola Daisi, in advancing the physical development of the institution over the last seven years.

Chief Kola Daisi, in his remarks, recognized the support of his late wife, Sherifat Agbeke, and other close associates in realizing his vision of establishing a world-class university. He directed the university's management to dedicate a portion of the new building to immortalize his late wife and other significant contributors, including his father and mother, late former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Otunba Subomi Balogun, and Professor Oladipo Akinkugbe.

The founder requested the naming of certain buildings and projects after living eminent personalities who have played key roles in the university's advancement. Additionally, the project manager, Mr. Tokunbo James, provided an overview of the Senate Building, detailing its floor plan and purposes, with completion expected within a short timeframe.

In attendance were key figures, including the chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Professor Adeniyi Osuntogun, Alhaji Laditi Ladipo, Bishop Solomon Amusan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, and other notable members of the council.
