Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University Explores Partnership with Kano State Government

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) has initiated discussions with the Kano State Government to partner with its teaching hospital for the practical training of students from the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences.

The university's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, on April 22, 2025.

The proposed partnership aims to provide students with hands-on learning experiences in medical-related programs, including Nursing Science, Radiography, and Medical Laboratory Science. The Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Prof. Muhammad Yalwa Gwarzo, highlighted the significance of the partnership, commending the Kano State Government for its well-equipped medical facilities.

The Commissioner for Health welcomed the proposal and assured the university of the state government's readiness to support the collaboration. He also promised to facilitate the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize the partnership.
