The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Economy, Finance, and Investment, Mr. Abdulkareem Siyaka, recently embarked on a guided tour of three renowned schools in Lagos State. These institutions included Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls, Divine Offspring Primary School, and Dansol High School, all located in the Ikeja area of Lagos State. This tour served as a precursor to the partnership discussions between Kogi State and Edves. Mr. Abdulkareem Siyaka articulated the government's commitment to education and its future plans. Kogi State currently offers free education from the basic to secondary school levels, and the government is determined to sustain and enhance this initiative. The focus is on providing quality education to the young population, recognizing that the skills and knowledge they acquire will shape the state's future.

The state boasts over 2,000 public schools, with approximately 45% of them classified as unity schools. To prepare over 800,000 youths with skills that will make them valuable contributors to the workforce, the government plans to invest in training facilitators, curriculum development, staff hiring, and internet connectivity. These initiatives come with costs, and the government is actively seeking strategic partnerships and resources to ensure the long-term success of its ten-year plan. As part of their vision for education, Kogi State plans to establish a tertiary vocational institute by the end of the next year. This institute will offer training in various trades, including bricklaying, plumbing, painting, and other entrepreneurial skills. The government envisions having one institute in each of the state's three senatorial districts to make vocational education accessible to all.
