Students of Prince Abubakar Audu University, formerly known as Kogi State University, Anyigba Campus, expressed concern over the increasing incidents of armed robberies in the Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to reports the students revealed that armed robbers frequently target hostels off-campus, stealing students' belongings, particularly gadgets. They described the robberies as rampant in the school area and expressed frustration over the lack of effective solutions.

Michael Benedict, one of the students affected, lamented the situation, stating that the robbers pose a serious threat to the safety of students in the host community. He shared details of their atrocities and plans to address the situation, including organizing night patrols for security purposes.

Another student, Daniel, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the alarming level of insecurity in the area and the need for police patrols at night to deter armed robbers.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the Kogi Police Command, William Ovye-Aya, for comment were unsuccessful as he did not respond to inquiries.The students called for urgent action to address the security challenges and ensure the safety of residents in the host community.
