In a bid to support underprivileged children in Ibadan, the Kushcare Foundation, a subsidiary of Cush Group, has donated lunch bags and school sandals to students of Progressive Day School in Odo-Ona Kekere, Oluyole Local Government Area, Oyo State.

The donation, presented to selected pupils on Monday, was part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to assist vulnerable members of the community. Mrs. Oluyemisi Rosemary Ilesanmi, Donor Service Executive of Kushcare Foundation, explained that the initiative aimed to bring joy to underprivileged students, focusing on those aged 0-9 years as the initial beneficiaries.

“Our foundation’s purpose is to provide relief to vulnerable pupils, and we selected younger pupils as the first group to receive our support since reaching all students at once is not feasible,” Ilesanmi said. She further noted that this marks the foundation’s second philanthropic outreach in Ibadan, with the first taking place last year when school bags, uniforms, and sandals were provided to pupils at Oluode Community Primary School.

Kushcare Foundation is also planning additional outreach efforts during the upcoming Christmas season to continue supporting underprivileged individuals in the area. Ilesanmi encouraged well-to-do members of society to contribute to the foundation's efforts, which are aimed at bringing comfort and joy to the less privileged.

The Group General Manager of Cush Group, Mr. Sobola Lanre, assured the pupils who had not yet received donations that the foundation would return with more resources, including uniforms and additional incentives.

The Head Teacher of Progressive Day School, Mr. Olukutan Adelani, expressed his gratitude to Kushcare Foundation, describing the gesture as timely amid the economic challenges faced by many families in the area. Adelani noted that several pupils’ parents struggle to meet educational needs, adding, “We sometimes have to buy exercise books for our students. This support from Kushcare will help ease the burden on families.”

Adelani also called upon other well-off individuals in the community to extend their support to underprivileged children, emphasizing that such collective efforts would complement the government’s role in providing education for all.
