KWASU Alumnus Habeeb Abdulrauf Wins Prestigious U.S. Graduate Teaching Award
Habeeb Abdulrauf, a Mass Communication graduate of Kwara State University and a graduate instructor at Western Michigan University, has been named the 2026 recipient of the CSCA President Pamela J. Cooper Graduate Teaching Award (M.A. Level)—one of the top and most competitive honours for graduate teachers in communication studies in the United States.
The news was communicated through an official notification from the CSCA award committee, which praised Abdulrauf as an exceptional and high-impact educator, commending his inclusive, student-centered, and engaging classroom approach that continues to inspire and empower learners.
Presented annually by the Central States Communication Association (CSCA), the highly competitive award recognizes outstanding teaching and celebrates educators who are setting new benchmarks in teaching philosophy, classroom effectiveness, instructional materials, and supervisor evaluation.
Reacting to the achievement, the Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, described the award as a proud and defining moment for the university.
He congratulated Abdulrauf for being a shining ambassador of KWASU on the global stage, noting that the recognition reflects the university’s strong academic foundation, quality training, and commitment to producing globally competitive graduates.
