KWASU Marks International Day of Persons Living with Disabilities

December 5, 2023, was the day Kwara State University, Malete, marked the 2023 International Day of Persons Living with Disabilities with a colourful event which brought the University community together with persons living with disabilities within and outside the campus.

It was an event the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, described as an opportunity  to showcase the institution's strides in fostering an inclusive campus.

Professor Jimoh emphasized that the University was  committed to aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals on Education to ensure equitable access to education.

"We remain resolute in  our drive to make KWASU a model University for inclusive tertiary education," he said.

The Director, KWASU Disability Support Office, Professor Olubukola Dada, said the Office was a hub for all staff and students of the University living with disabilities who require special assistance in carrying out their daily activities.

Highpoint of the event was the varied presentations of songs, playlets, and dances by students of Kwara State University and pupils of inclusive schools within the State, all of whom are living with disabilities.
