Kwara State University (KWASU) has announced its commitment to advancing the Department of Fine and Applied Arts by leveraging its available facilities and resources.

During an exhibition held at the department on Monday, September 9, 2024, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Moshood Jimba, who represented the Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, expressed the university's pride in the department's achievements and its readiness to support its further development.

"We have the people, the department, and the resources. Our priority now is to take everything to the next level," Professor Jimba said. He emphasized the importance of maximizing the institution's resources to drive progress and called for collaboration among stakeholders to achieve the university's goals. 

He also highlighted the potential of entrepreneurship and mass production of artworks to generate revenue for the university.

The Head of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Professor Binta Sulyman, affirmed the department’s readiness to utilize existing resources to reach new heights. She added that the department’s planned relocation to its permanent site in Osi would provide ample facilities and space for growth.

The exhibition featured creative works from both students and staff of the department.
