Six students from Lagos State public schools who achieved outstanding results in the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) were rewarded by the Lagos State government. The overall best performer received a cash gift of N1 million, while the remaining five students received N200,000 each.

The commissioner expressed gratitude to the organizers and highlighted the importance of corporate support in education. The co-founder and CEO of Chronicles Nigeria Limited, Mr. Oluwatosin Koyejo, announced an increase in the total prize money for the next year and extended the initiative to other states. He emphasized the aim of the award to reward and celebrate excellence among students and encouraged the students to strive for academic excellence, highlighting the significant role of quality education in societal development.
