Lagos State Government Announces Partnership with VCDF for Female Students
The Lagos state government has announced partnership with Vcare for Development Foundation (VCDF) for female students across secondary schools in the state.
In a bid to promote menstrual hygiene among female students, the Lagos State Government has announced a collaborative effort with the Vcare for Development Foundation (VCDF) to distribute over 20,000 sanitary pads across secondary schools in the state.

The revelation came during a press briefing to mark the World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024, where Dr. (Mrs.) Kemi Ogunyemi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, shared insights into the state's initiatives. The event was held under the theme "Together for a Period Friendly World," reflecting the global focus on advocating for menstrual health awareness and action.
Dr. Ogunyemi emphasized the importance of the annual World Menstrual Hygiene Day, highlighting its significance in promoting good menstrual health practices among women and adolescent girls worldwide. She elaborated on the week-long series of activities scheduled from May 29 to June 5, organized jointly by the Lagos State Government and VCDF.
The primary objective of these activities, as outlined by Dr. Ogunyemi, is to educate and empower at least 500,000 female students across the state with vital menstrual health information. Furthermore, the distribution of over 20,000 sanitary pads aims to ensure that menstruating students have access to essential resources for hygienic management.
