Lagos State University Begins 2025/2026 Online Admission Screening for Post-UTME and Direct Entry Candidates
Lagos State University (LASU) has officially commenced its online screening process for admission into the 2025/2026 academic session.
The screening exercise is mandatory for all applicants seeking admission into the university through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or Direct Entry (DE).
According to a statement released on Friday, June 27, 2025, the screening exercise applies to candidates who selected LASU as their first-choice institution, scored at least 195 in the 2025 UTME, and will be 16 years or older by October 1, 2025.
Who is Eligible? UTME Candidates (100 Level):
Must have chosen LASU as first choice in the 2025 UTME.
Must have scored a minimum of 195.
Must be at least 16 years old by October 1, 2025.
Direct Entry Candidates (200 Level): Must have selected LASU as first choice on their JAMB Direct Entry application.
Only holders of a LASU Diploma or NCE (for Faculty of Education only) are accepted.
LASU Foundation (JUPEB) and Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) candidates who meet the criteria are also eligible.
Indigeneship Verification:
Candidates of Lagos State origin (100 and 200 levels) must have been cleared by the university’s Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC).
Important Note:
Only candidates applying for accredited courses offered for the 2025/2026 academic session are eligible to proceed.
Application Procedure To apply, follow the steps below:
⏺️Visit the LASU admission portal at www.lasu.edu.ng.
⏺️Navigate to Student > New Applicants > UTME/DE Screening. Click UTME Candidate Login.
⏺️Enter your UTME registration number and surname, then click Submit. Click Make Payment (Admission Screening).
⏺️After payment, log in again to access the online screening form using your UTME registration number, surname, and transaction ID.
⏺️You may re-access
the portal to: Correct/update any information (a fee applies), Change your course of study (with additional payment).
Screening Requirements
????All candidates must provide: Five (5) O’ Level credits, relevant to their chosen course, in not more than two sittings.
Note:
Medicine and Dentistry require one sitting only.
Engineering applicants using two sittings must have six (6) credits, including:
English Language
Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry
Two other science-related subjects
Aeronautic and Astronautics Engineering requires Credit in Further Mathematics.

All candidates must upload their O’ Level results on JAMB CAPS before the screening deadline.
Candidates must ensure their details are accurate and certify the previewed information before final submission.
Once submitted, no further edits will be allowed without an additional fee.
Screening Outcome and Result
Screening is automated and based on a Point Grading System.
Scores will be derived from both UTME scores and O’ Level grades in five best relevant subjects.
Subject combinations must match requirements listed in the 2025 JAMB brochure (available via JAMB eBrochure).
After submission: Visit the screening portal again using your UTME registration number to download your screening report.
Deadline
The admission screening portal will remain open from Monday, June 30 to Saturday, July 26, 2025 (until 11:59 PM).
Additional Instructions for Direct Entry (DE) Applicants
All DE candidates must submit:
A copy of their online Admission Screening Report, and A copy of their LASU Diploma/NCE results
