Lagos State University Centre for Peace and Security Studies to Host Public Lecture on Israel-Iran War

The Centre for Peace and Security Studies at Lagos State University (LASU) is hosting a one-day public lecture on the theme "Israel-Iranian War 2025: Issues and Implications".

The event will hold on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 by 11:00 a.m. at Lecture Hall, Centre for Peace and Security Studies Secretariat, Main Campus, Ojo

This public lecture aims to provide a platform for discussion and analysis of the implications of the Israel-Iran conflict, which has been noted to have far-reaching consequences for the global economy, including increased energy costs and potential impacts on foreign exchange earnings and fiscal consolidation.

In a recent statement, Dr. Muda Yusuf, Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE), highlighted the potential risks and opportunities arising from the conflict for the Nigerian economy. He noted that while the conflict may lead to increased energy costs and inflationary pressures, it may also positively impact foreign exchange earnings and fiscal consolidation due to the surge in crude oil prices.
