A Lagos school teacher, Dupe Ehiorobo, 45, appeared before the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court today on charges of assaulting a four-year-old pupil. The incident allegedly occurred on May 13, 2024, at Access Ville School, Ipaja, Lagos.

Ms. Ehiorobo pleaded not guilty to the charge, which contravenes Section 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, punishable by up to one year in prison. The chief magistrate, E. Kubeinje, granted bail of N100,000 with two sureties and scheduled the next hearing for October 10, 2024.
