The Actuarial Science and Insurance Students’ Association (ASISA) of Lagos State University (LASU) took to the streets for their inaugural Insurance Awareness Day. The 25th set of ASISA, in collaboration with the Department of Insurance, organized a campus-wide walk to educate and raise awareness about the importance of insurance in various aspects of life.

The event, led by Dr. Sunday Ajemunigbohun, Head of the Department of Insurance, and Sholaja Mohammed, President of ASISA, aimed to increase insurance penetration and awareness among students and staff. The walk included department staff and students who actively participated in promoting the benefits and necessity of insurance.

Representatives from Veritas Kapital Assurance Limited, the lead sponsor, Sterling Assurance Company Limited, the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), and other prominent insurance institutions attended the event. Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and industry stakeholders in promoting insurance literacy.

This initiative by LASU's ASISA marks a significant step in fostering a greater understanding of insurance among the university community, highlighting its crucial role in financial planning and risk management.
