LASU Announces Potential Loss of Admission Slots for 295 Candidates
Lagos State University (LASU) has revealed that 295 candidates among the 12,298 offered provisional admission may lose their slots due to failure to complete the final clearance process and obtain matriculation numbers.
Lagos State University (LASU) has disclosed that a total of 295 candidates offered provisional admission may risk losing their slots due to failure to complete the final clearance process and obtain matriculation numbers. This announcement was made by LASU management on Tuesday, April 2, affecting candidates among the 12,298 initially offered provisional admissions into various departments of the institution.
The candidates in question were reportedly not cleared during the 2023/2024 LASU Central Admissions Clearance, LACACA, Operations. Consequently, they may be ineligible to participate in the upcoming first-semester examinations scheduled to commence on Tuesday.
LASU clarified that the failure to clear these candidates was not a result of internal university processes but rather due to the non-provision of required documents or information by the candidates. Specifically, some candidates failed to upload their O’Level results on the JAMB portal, which is essential for validating their admission claims.
The breakdown of non-cleared candidates and reasons are as follows:
- Candidates rejected at the ICT stage due to discrepancies or non-availability of results on the WAEC/NECO portals – 26.
- Candidates rejected at the Faculty level due to inconsistencies in names on WAEC/NECO/JAMB admission letters and non-availability of admission letters – 66.
- Level 1 candidates who failed to upload O’Level results on the JAMB portal and change to the admitted course on JAMB’s portal – 138.
- Level 2 candidates who did not commence LACACA: 50 candidates were offered admissions in October 2023, and 15 in January 2024, totaling 65.
