LASU Management Inspects Infrastructure Upgrades at Epe Campus

The management team of the Lagos State University (LASU) recently visited the Epe Campus to inspect ongoing infrastructural developments aimed at enhancing the campus environment and student experience.

Led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olufunsho Omobitan, the team assessed the newly installed borehole systems in both male and female hostels to address water challenges faced by students. The inspection revealed that the taps installed were running efficiently, even without electricity, providing continuous water supply to the hostels.

In addition to the water facilities, the team also inspected the newly installed CCTV cameras strategically positioned around the campus. These security measures are part of a campus-wide security project initiated by the university management to safeguard the lives and properties of staff and students.

Furthermore, the team reviewed the ongoing upgrades to hostel facilities, funded by both the university management and generous donors.

During the visit, Prof. Omobitan provided updates on upcoming initiatives, including the commencement of solar electrification in certain areas of the campus. This initiative aims to supplement the existing self-power generation, especially considering the frequent power outages experienced in the Epe community.

Additionally, Prof. Omobitan revealed that discussions were underway with a new generation bank to install a new ATM machine on campus, enhancing financial accessibility for students and staff.

These infrastructural upgrades are part of the current administration's commitment to comprehensive development at the Epe Campus. With the support of the Lagos State Government and individual donors, LASU is striving to elevate the campus facilities to new heights, ensuring a conducive learning environment for all.
