Lagos State University (LASU) has commenced its 2026/2027 Online Admission Screening Exercise for candidates seeking admission into 100 level through UTME and 200 level through Direct Entry. The exercise is compulsory for all eligible applicants and will run for 21 days, from Wednesday, 3rd June 2026 to Tuesday, 23rd June 2026 (midnight deadline).

The University confirmed that only candidates who selected LASU as their first choice and meet the minimum requirements will be considered.

Eligibility requirements include:

  • UTME candidates must score at least 195 in the 2026 UTME
  • Candidates must be at least 16 years old by 1st October 2026
  • Pre-Degree (PDS) candidates who completed LASU PDS and meet UTME requirements
  • Direct Entry candidates with approved qualifications who selected LASU as first choice
  • LASU Diploma holders (only acceptable DE qualification, except NCE for Education programmes)
  • Lagos State indigenes verified by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC)

Direct Entry candidates are also required to submit their online screening report alongside diploma or NCE results to the Admission Annex/Liaison Office (Room 7, Administrative Block II).

The application process is fully online and requires candidates to:

  • Visit www.lasu.edu.ng and navigate to the admission screening portal
  • Log in with UTME registration number and surname
  • Generate and pay the admission screening fee
  • Complete biodata and academic details
  • Select course of study and O’Level sittings
  • Upload O’Level results (compulsory on JAMB CAPS before deadline)
  • Preview and certify submitted information
  • Download screening result after submission

Key academic requirements outlined include:

  • Minimum of five O’Level credits in relevant subjects (maximum two sittings)
  • Medicine and Dentistry require only one sitting
  • Engineering candidates using two sittings must have six credits including English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry
  • Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering requires credit in Further Mathematics
  • English Language is compulsory for all courses

LASU further warned that any examination taken after July 2026 will not be accepted for admission consideration.

The University emphasized that the screening decision will be based strictly on UTME scores and O’Level performance using a point grading system, and that only first-choice LASU applicants are eligible.
