While presenting the students to the VC, the director of the Centre, Prof. Rasheed Sanni, said that attracting the new students was thanks to the leadership and support of the Vice Chancellor. He said, "These are eleven students from the Gambia and Sierra Leone and we are still expecting more. We were able to achieve this as a result of the scouting mission we embarked upon to some African countries based on your permission.

"Now, we can say that LASU is everywhere in Africa because ACEITSE is spreading its tentacles. This is thanks to your leadership and support ma. There is nothing we bring before you that does not receive immediate attention. We can't ask for any more than you are doing, ma. With your support, I believe we will achieve more."

The VC, in her remarks, welcomed the students to LASU, assuring them that they were in the best place possible. "We are the best in West Africa according to the UI GreenMetrics Ranking and the best state university in the country. We have the vision to become the best in West Africa and because of that, we are working to achieve our objective of internationalization. We want to be known worldwide and I believe we are on course. That is why I encouraged the leadership of the Centre to embark on international students hunting."

She advised the students to safely explore Lagos during their study at the university assuring them that the State is safe for them. She ended by wishing them a successful stay at the university.
