On Thursday, October 17, 2024, the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, hosted Mr. Opeyemi Eniola, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Lagos State Governor on Basic and Secondary Education, at her office on the 6th floor of the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Ojo Campus. The meeting marked a strategic dialogue aimed at enhancing educational initiatives in the state.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor, alongside other university management members and key officials, engaged in productive discussions with Mr. Eniola on several vital issues. Topics ranged from promoting girl-child education to advancing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education. Another important subject was the need to bolster the teaching and learning of the Yoruba language in schools.

The dialogue was focused on exploring collaborative opportunities between LASU and the Office of the SSA for Basic and Secondary Education. Both parties expressed interest in building partnerships that would strengthen educational outcomes at the basic and secondary levels in Lagos State.
