The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has announced the commencement of its Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise for candidates of Lagos origin for the 2024/2025 academic session. This exercise is mandatory for all candidates of Lagos State origin who selected LASUED as their first choice in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 170.

- Online Registration: Opens on Friday, July 19, 2024, and closes on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
- Verification Interview Period: Monday, July 29, 2024, to Thursday, August 22, 2024.
Screening Schedule:
- First Week: Monday, July 29, 2024; Wednesday, July 31, 2024; Thursday, August 1, 2024.
- Second Week: Monday, August 5, 2024; Wednesday, August 7, 2024; Thursday, August 8, 2024.
- Third Week: Monday, August 12, 2024; Wednesday, August 14, 2024; Thursday, August 15, 2024.
- Fourth Week: Monday, August 19, 2024; Wednesday, August 21, 2024; Thursday, August 22, 2024.

Method of Application
Candidates are required to make payments online through the official LASUED portal: LASUED Online Registration.
General Information
- Eligibility: Only candidates of Lagos State origin who scored 170 and above in the 2024 UTME are eligible for the screening.
- Verification: Candidates must be cleared by the LASUED Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (LIIVC) before being considered for admission.
- Venue: The verification interviews will be held at the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Hall of the university.
- Old Applicants: Candidates from the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions who have not been offered admission need to revalidate their Indigeneship Clearance Certificates at the same venue.
- Direct Entry Applicants: All Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin must participate in this verification exercise before they can be considered for admission.
Important Notice
The university warns against making payments to any individual or account other than the one specified on the official LASUED portal. Payments made through unauthorized means are at the applicant's own risk.
