LASUED Announces Mop-Up Indigeneship Verification Exercise for 2025/2026 UTME Candidates
The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Oto/Ijanikin, with a campus at Odo-Noforija, Epe, has approved a five-day mop-up Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise for Lagos State candidates who missed the earlier scheduled process.

According to a statement e-signed by the Secretary, Lagos State University of Education Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (LIIVC), the exercise is strictly for candidates of Lagos State origin who chose LASUED as their first choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scored a minimum of 170, and could not take part in the previous verification.
The verification interview will run from Monday, September 1 to Friday, September 5, 2025, at the ETF Hall, Oto/Ijanikin campus of the university.

Requirements for Verification
- Indigeneship Form
- Payment Receipt
- Candidate’s Birth Certificate (Original & Photocopy)
- Father’s Birth Certificate (Original & Photocopy)
- Letter from Oba (mandatory)
- Letter from Chairman, Local Government Area
- Landed Property Documents
The university stressed that the Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise does not guarantee nor serve as proof of admission into LASUED, but is a prerequisite for consideration.
Candidates are to make payments only through the official LASUED online account via the link provided on the institution’s website: https://www.lasued.edu.ng. The management warned applicants against making payments to individuals or unauthorized accounts, noting that such transactions would be at the candidates’ own risk.
The exercise is also compulsory for all Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin who wish to be considered for admission.
“Please note that only candidates who are of Lagos State origin are eligible for the screening, and must be cleared by the LASUED Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (LIIVC) before they can be considered for admission,” the Secretary, LIIVC, stated.
Only those who scored 170 and above in the 2025 UTME are eligible to apply.
