The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has entered into a significant partnership with the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NIIT), Zaria. On Friday, September 6, 2024, both institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of an Autogas Conversion Centre at LASUSTECH’s Ikorodu campus. The agreement also covers various areas of academic partnership and consultancy services.

The MoU signing ceremony took place at the Abuja office of the NIIT. Representing LASUSTECH, Vice Chancellor Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya signed the agreement, while the Director-General/Chief Executive of NIIT, Dr. Bayero Saleh Farah, signed on behalf of the institute. The Registrars of both institutions, Mr. David Semawon Ogungbe (LASUSTECH) and Dr. Maina Williams Tarfa (NIIT), also signed as witnesses.

Other notable attendees included Barr. Davies Job, Legal Head of NIIT, and Mr. Baderu Abdulakeem, Head of the Lagos office of NIIT.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing technological and academic advancements at LASUSTECH, particularly in the field of sustainable transport solutions. The Autogas Conversion Centre is expected to play a crucial role in promoting environmentally friendly fuel alternatives and fostering innovation in transport technology.
