Lincoln University College, Malaysia, in partnership with Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has matriculated 500 pioneer students at its maiden matriculation ceremony held on the NSUK campus. The event marked a significant milestone for Lincoln University, highlighting its commitment to providing global academic excellence and nurturing future leaders in Nigeria.

The pro-chancellor of Lincoln University, Professor Bibi Florina, emphasized the importance of the partnership between Lincoln University and NSUK in shaping the future of education in Nigeria. She noted that the collaboration, facilitated by the National Universities Commission’s (NUC) Transnational Education Programme (TNE), aims to enhance international academic collaboration and foster educational growth.

Professor Florina disclosed that the institution had admitted over 500 students into various academic programs approved by both the NUC and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). She highlighted the university's unique curriculum, which emphasizes 70 percent practical training and 30 percent theory, aiming to produce not just knowledgeable graduates but also skilled, job-creating entrepreneurs.

Professor Amiya Bhaumik, founder and president of Lincoln University College, reiterated the institution’s mission to make world-class education accessible in Nigeria. He announced that 2,400 students had been awarded an 80 percent scholarship, significantly reducing tuition fees to levels comparable to those of government institutions. This initiative underscores Lincoln University’s commitment to providing affordable, high-quality education.

NSUK Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, expressed her excitement over the partnership, noting that NSUK is the first Nigerian university to host an international institution on its campus. She described the collaboration as a transformative step that will set new standards for higher education in Nigeria and reaffirmed NSUK's commitment to maintaining high academic standards.

The matriculation ceremony was attended by dignitaries from international organizations, government bodies, the private sector, professional associations, parents, and well-wishers, marking a historic moment for Lincoln University College’s presence in Nigeria.
