Council of Legal Education Doubles ACU Law Quota, University Intake Increased from 50 to 100 for 2026/2027 Session
The Council of Legal Education has approved a significant increase in the admission quota for the Law programme at Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo State, raising the university’s intake from 50 to 100 students for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The decision was one of several quota adjustments announced at the Council’s Third Quarter Hybrid Meeting held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, and presided over by the Chairman of the Council, Chief Emeka Ngige, OFR, SAN, Life Bencher.
The increase places Ajayi Crowther University among eight institutions granted upward reviews of their admission capacities.
The quota increase aligns with some of the Vice-Chancellor’s 10-point agenda, particularly the focus on academic excellence and programme expansion, as well as student-centric development and welfare, which prioritises students.
The development also comes as the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, prepares to mark one year of her leadership at ACU.
Reacting to the quota increase, Prof. Oduwole expressed appreciation to the Council of Legal Education for considering the university worthy of the increased quota. She assured that ACU would not compromise its standards across all its academic programmes.
The Vice-Chancellor particularly thanked the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of ACU, Dr. Olutoyin Okeowo, and all members of the university council for their support in positioning the university among its peers.

Prof. Oduwole also appreciated her management team for their unflinching support, as well as the entire university staff, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Olanrewaju Onadeko, SAN, and members of the Faculty for their relentless efforts in producing knowledgeable and well-trained law students.
She further appreciated various directorates and units, including Works and Services, under the leadership of Engr. Dr. Oluwole Olaniyi; the Directorate of Academic Planning team, led by Prof. Bolanle Ibojo; and the Environmental Management Unit, led by Mr. Olugbenga Fashina, among others, for their contributions to the success recorded by the university.
The meeting also reviewed the results of the May 2026 Bar Final (Resit) Examination.
The results showed that out of 1,955 candidates who sat for the examination, 885 candidates, representing 45.3 per cent, passed, while 983 candidates, representing 54.7 per cent, failed.
Fifty-five candidates received conditional passes, 32 candidates were absent, while 19 results were withheld.
