Martson De-Rock Partners UNIZIK to Reward Outstanding Staff, Opens IT Opportunities for Engineering Students
Martson De-Rock Limited has partnered with Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) to fully sponsor the university's Staff of the Year Awards 2026 and provide Industrial Training (IT) opportunities for engineering students.
Martson De-Rock Limited has partnered with Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) to fully sponsor the university's Staff of the Year Awards 2026 and provide Industrial Training (IT) opportunities for engineering students.

Under the sponsorship package, the company's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Ezeorji Martin Chinedu, approved a ₦1 million grand prize each for the Best Teaching Staff and the Best Non-Teaching Staff, making it one of the university's biggest staff recognition initiatives.
The award is aimed at promoting excellence and exceptional service delivery among academic and non-academic staff while encouraging a culture of merit and outstanding performance.
In addition to sponsoring the awards, Martson De-Rock Limited announced that students of the following departments at UNIZIK will be eligible to undertake their Industrial Training (IT) programme with the company:
- Mechanical Engineering.
- Civil Engineering.
- Electrical Engineering.
According to the company, participating students will receive practical training in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty equipment and machinery, gaining hands-on technical experience, exposure to industry best practices and practical knowledge to complement their academic studies.
The sponsorship was confirmed during a strategic meeting between the university's Vice-Chancellor, Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, and the management of Martson De-Rock Limited.
Members of the company's delegation included:
- Ezeorji Martin Chinedu – Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director.
- Joel M. Egwuonwu – Ezeudo II of Umuawulu.
- Ezeorji Frederick – General Manager.
- Ekeh Micheal – Site Engineer.
- Michelle Winning – Human Resources Manager.
Mr. Ezeorji commended the Vice-Chancellor's leadership and expressed confidence that rewarding outstanding staff would further enhance productivity and institutional development.

The partnership was facilitated by Ekene Ezeumeanya, with the support of Ebele Boniface Ewulum.
The UNIZIK Staff of the Year Awards is one of the university's flagship initiatives established to recognise diligence, integrity, innovation and exceptional contributions to the advancement of the institution. With Martson De-Rock Limited assuming full sponsorship of the 2026 edition, the initiative is expected to further strengthen the culture of recognising excellence within the university.
