MAU Yola and AUN Strengthen Academic Ties

Modibbo Adama University, Yola (MAU) and the American University of Nigeria (AUN) have taken significant steps to strengthen their academic ties. AUN's President/Vice Chancellor, Dr. DeWayne Frazier, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to MAU's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar.

The visit aimed to explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration, particularly in the areas of joint research, library resources, staff/student training, and exchange programs. Both parties discussed the newly redesigned TETFund Graduate/Postgraduate Scholarship program, which prioritizes domestic academic training to address brain drain in Nigeria's higher education sector.

The proposed collaboration is expected to enhance the academic experience for students and staff, promoting academic excellence and research capabilities in Nigeria. A written Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is being proposed to formalize the partnership between the two institutions.
