McPherson University Welcomes Freshers to Campus for New Academic Session

McPherson University has warmly welcomed a new cohort of students during its 13th orientation program for the 2024/2025 academic session, held at the University Multipurpose Hall. The event, designed to acclimate incoming freshmen to university life, was marked by an inspiring address from the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Igbasan, who described McPherson University as the “Home of Champions.”
In his keynote address, Prof. Igbasan emphasized the significance of the orientation, stating, “This program is designed to prepare you for your stay in the university.” He encouraged students to fully utilize the resources and opportunities available to them, highlighting that their success hinges on their engagement and proactive approach.
Reassuring the students of the university’s commitment to excellence, the Vice-Chancellor affirmed, “We have competent and highly committed staff,” underscoring the faculty's dedication to creating a supportive learning environment. This commitment, he noted, is backed by a proven track record of quality education aimed at instilling a culture of academic excellence among both staff and students.
The Acting Registrar, Mr. Olufemi Adebowale, also addressed the freshmen, reflecting on the university's growth since its inception. He encouraged students to capitalize on the upward trajectory of the institution, stating, “There are programs designed within the school curriculum to ensure you become professionals before you leave the four walls of the institution. Take full advantage of them.”
Adding to the message of encouragement, the Bursar, Mrs. Aderonke Adeofun, assured students of the university's commitment to maintaining highly subsidized fees and a flexible payment structure. She urged them to concentrate on their academic pursuits while striving for excellence.
Prof. Igbasan further motivated students to engage in extracurricular activities, urging them to connect with peers and faculty. “Your university experience is what you make of it,” he said, inspiring students to explore various interests and foster meaningful relationships during their time at McPherson.
