Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria Pays Advisory Visit to KHAIRUN

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) on Monday, 7th July, 2025, paid an advisory visit to Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) as part of its engagement on the ongoing Medical Laboratory Science programme at the university.

The delegation was led by the Acting Registrar of the Council, Dr. Donald Ibe Ifili, who stated that the purpose of the visit was to assess the university’s curriculum, facilities, and overall preparedness in running the Medical Laboratory Science programme. He emphasized the Council’s commitment to supporting institutions in achieving quality standards and commended KHAIRUN for taking proactive steps toward excellence. Dr. Ifili also appreciated the university management for the warm reception.

In his welcome remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, on behalf of the Senate, Management, Staff and Students, warmly welcomed the delegation to the university. He expressed gratitude to the Council for honoring the university’s invitation and for their support towards the development of the programme. The Vice-Chancellor also extended heartfelt condolences to the Council over the recent passing of its former Registrar.

Professor Garba reiterated the university’s commitment to ensuring that all necessary requirements are in place to offer a standard and globally competitive Medical Laboratory Science course, in line with the expectations of the Council and best practices in medical education.

The visit marks a significant step in strengthening the collaboration between KHAIRUN and the MLSCN, and reinforces the university’s dedication to academic excellence and professional compliance.
