In an impressive display of academic excellence, Deontae and Deontrae Wright, identical twins, have clinched the titles of valedictorian and salutatorian of their graduating class at Scott High School in Toledo, Ohio. Deontae, born just 20 minutes before his brother, secured a remarkable 4.5 GPA, earning him the valedictorian honor, while Deontrae closely followed with an outstanding 4.4 GPA as the salutatorian.
The twins attribute their academic accomplishments to a combination of hard work, unwavering dedication, and a healthy competitive spirit that continually motivated them to excel. Deontrae elaborated, "We both like to compete against each other. We want to score higher than each other."

These determined twins have not only secured their futures academically but have also earned full scholarships to The Ohio State University. They have their sights set on studying electrical engineering and minoring in business, with aspirations to establish their own firm upon graduation.
The Wright twins, hailing from a minority background, serve as a source of inspiration to many students. National Center for Education Statistics reported that in 2018, only 39% of Black students achieved a regular high school diploma, contrasting with 89% of White students. Deontae and Deontrae have defied these odds, exemplifying that with determination and support, one can overcome adversity and achieve success.
