Mock Accreditation Team Visits Jos Study Centre Ahead of NUC Exercise
A mock accreditation team from NOUN, led by Prof. Gregory Okagbare, visited the Jos Study Centre to assess its readiness for the upcoming NUC accreditation of the B.Sc Accounting and B.Sc Banking and Finance programmes.
A team from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) headquarters visited the Jos Study Centre to conduct a mock accreditation exercise in preparation for the upcoming National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation later this year.
The team, led by Prof. Gregory Okagbare, Director of Academic Planning, was warmly received by the Acting Centre Director, Mr. Bulama Samson Mshelia, and other staff members. The exercise focused on two programmes under the Faculty of Management Sciences—B.Sc Accounting and B.Sc Banking and Finance, both housed in the Department of Financial Studies.
During their visit, the 3-man team assessed the centre's physical facilities, along with the number of teaching and non-teaching staff, students’ files, and other resources. They expressed satisfaction with the preparedness of the centre and will submit a detailed report to the university management.
The team also addressed the staff, urging them to maintain diligence in their duties as the centre prepares for the NUC accreditation. Other team members included Prof. Johnson Okoh, Head of the Department of Financial Studies, and Mr. Alhamdu Usman, Principal Assistant Registrar.
