 In a remarkable feat, a mother and son from Maryland, United States, Carolyn and Immanuel Patton, have achieved a milestone by both earning their Bachelor's degrees simultaneously from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Immanuel Patton, 23, reminisced about a promise made at the age of 5, stating, "I remember I just told my mom... one day, it’s gonna be you and me. We’re going to get our degrees at the same time." Carolyn Patton, 63, had previously given up on pursuing her Bachelor's degree in 1995 after facing life's challenges. However, inspired by her son's unwavering encouragement, she decided to re-enroll, and together they fulfilled the promise made years ago.
