Eyewitnesses through a viral video reported that a group of motorcyclists attempted to assault students residing in Empire Hostel. The initial disagreement over fare negotiations spiraled out of control, resulting in chaos. Multiple rooms within the hostel were damaged during the confrontation.
The Ekiti State Student Union (ESSU) swiftly condemned the violent incident. In a statement, the ESSU expressed deep concern for student safety and denounced the acts of violence.

"The ESSU says NO to this evil act," declared the union’s spokesperson. "We stand united against any form of violence or intimidation. Our fellow students deserve a safe and conducive environment for their studies."
