"Na 33k" Trends Online as FG Fails to live up to promise of Increased NYSC Allowance

The Federal Government of Nigeria has released a monthly allowance of 33,000 naira to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, despite a prior declaration that the stipend had been increased to 77,000 naira. This discrepancy has incited widespread outrage among youth corpers, who have taken to social media to voice their frustrations.

The Government had previously stated that the allowance for NYSC members would be raised to help support their living expenses during their service year to match the Nation's astronomical Inflation rate. However, the release of the 33,000 naira allowance has left many corps members feeling deceived and undervalued. Numerous youth corpers have shared their payment receipts online, expressing their discontent and tagging the Federal Government as deceitful.
