Jigawa State Approves N11 Billion Purchase of Khadija University and Key Infrastructure Projects
This is part of the governor’s 12-point agenda aimed at improving educational access in the state. An initial payment of N4.07 billion will be made, with the remaining balance paid in two installments.
The Jigawa State Executive Council, chaired by Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, approved the purchase of Khadija University, Maji’a, for N11 billion during its meeting on Monday, September 30, 2024.
This is part of the governor’s 12-point agenda aimed at improving educational access in the state. An initial payment of N4.07 billion will be made, with the remaining balance paid in two installments.
The council also approved N411.8 million for the construction of 89 hand pumps, 35 solar-powered water collection points, and other water projects across the state’s 23 constituencies. Additionally, N400 million was allocated to support the Federal Government’s PEWASH Programme.
In the agricultural sector, the state will purchase 20 combine harvesters, costing N1.25 billion, with an advance payment of N374.3 million approved for AGRA Consortium Company.
