This reunification marks a major step towards strengthening the student movement across the three states.
In a significant development, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zamfara has officially reunited with the Sokoto and Kebbi state chapters to form the SOKEZA axis. This reunification marks a major step towards strengthening the student movement across the three states.
The reunion, finalized on September 8, 2024, aims to set aside past differences and unite in the common pursuit of promoting the welfare and interests of Nigerian students. The newly formed SOKEZA axis is committed to working collaboratively, sharing resources, and providing mutual support to address the challenges facing students.
Speaking on behalf of the NANS Zamfara axis, the leadership emphasized the importance of unity, stating, "We acknowledge that as humans, we must embrace our differences and work together towards a common purpose. This reunification demonstrates our commitment to unity and strength."
The SOKEZA axis is set to advocate for positive changes, focusing on:
- Improved educational infrastructure and resources
- Better living conditions for students
- Students' rights and welfare
- Increased funding for education
- Empowerment and development opportunities for students
The reunified body will actively push for these reforms, ensuring that the voices of Nigerian students are heard and their needs addressed.
