In Gandu community, near the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, residents and local vigilantes successfully apprehended a suspected terrorist involved in recent attacks on the community. The suspect, reportedly part of the gunmen responsible for unrest at the students' hostels of the Federal University of Lafia, was arrested during an attempted theft on Tuesday night.

A community source informed the media about the incident, revealing that residents had been on high alert since the last attack. The captured suspect was later handed over to security operatives for further investigation. Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Rahman Nansel, for comments were unsuccessful as of press time.

Last Monday, the community experienced a terrorist attack resulting in the kidnapping and injury of residents. The attackers killed a mechanic and abducted his wife and daughters. This incident follows a pattern of persistent attacks in the area, causing fear among students and residents.

The police confirmed the recent incident, stating that one person was killed, and the kidnappers abducted the deceased's wife. Despite efforts by law enforcement to rescue the woman, her whereabouts remain unknown.
