In a recent development, the administration of Nasarawa State College of Education, Akwanga, has taken a stern stance by prohibiting final-year students from participating in sign-out or graduation celebrations. The official announcement, conveyed through a circular, was signed by James H. Angbre on behalf of the Registrar, with the immediate implementation of the directive.

The college authorities have expressed their concern over certain behaviors exhibited by students following their final examinations under the guise of sign-out celebrations.

According to the administration, these actions were found to be in contravention of the institution's established rules as outlined in the Students' Information Handbook, specifically in section 2.0, subsections 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4, leading to the enforcement of this ban.

Additionally, the management has issued a stern warning, indicating that any failure to comply with the directive will result in severe sanctions. This move follows the precedent set by the Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic (IMAP), Lafia, which became the first higher education institution in the state to impose restrictions on sign-out celebrations for graduating students.

The decision has been met with mixed reactions among students and the wider community, as the college takes steps to maintain discipline and uphold its established regulations for student conduct.
