Nasarawa State University Celebrates Graduation of Organizational Development Students at USAID SCALE Program

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, attended the graduation ceremony of students from the 3rd National Organizational Development Summit and Advocacy program. The event, organized by the USAID Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE) in collaboration with Palladium and the Institute of Governance and Development Studies (IGDS) at Nasarawa State University, took place at the NAF Event Centre, Kado-Abuja.
Distinguished guests at the ceremony included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Professor Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo, the Registrar, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, the Director of the Institute of Governance and Development Studies, Professor Andrew Zamani, and the Deputy Director of the Institute, Dr. Yusuf Alhaji Usman.

This graduation marks the successful completion of a program established through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2023 by then Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, on behalf of NSUK, and Palladium, the implementer of the USAID SCALE program.
The USAID SCALE program, which began in October 2020, is a five-year initiative aimed at enhancing the financial, management, and advocacy capacities of local civil society organizations (CSOs) and business membership organizations (BMOs) in Nigeria. The ultimate goal is to foster a more accountable, transparent, peaceful, and democratic Nigeria with more effective and efficient public service delivery.

The SCALE activity focuses on strengthening the organizational capacity of CSOs and BMOs, as well as their ability to collaborate on advocacy and accountability in key policy areas that improve the quality of life for Nigerians.
In her address, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman praised the graduates for their dedication and hard work, emphasizing the importance of their roles in driving societal change and promoting good governance. She also expressed gratitude to USAID, Palladium, and all partners involved in the program for their commitment to empowering local organizations and enhancing civic engagement in Nigeria.
