The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) was honored to host the newly elected executives of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) in Edo State, as they paid a courtesy call to the esteemed institution, Myschoolnews report.

The executives, under the leadership of Chairman Com. Olise Chukwunedum Francis, conveyed their appreciation for UBTH's proactive measures in staff welfare, promotion, and allowances. 

Commending the positive working relationship at UBTH, Chairman Francis underscored the pivotal role it plays in averting potential strike actions.

In response, Prof. Darlington E. Obaseki, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), conveyed heartfelt congratulations and gratitude for the chairman's commendations. 

The CMD, in turn, assured the NANNM executives of continuous support, with a focus on elevating the well-being and professional satisfaction of nurses within their roles.

Prof. Obaseki urged the NANNM executives to uphold exemplary professionalism, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the image and integrity of the nursing profession. 

He highlighted UBTH's unwavering commitment to setting and maintaining high standards in nursing education across Edo State, ensuring a consistent supply of highly trained nurses to healthcare institutions.

Acknowledging UBTH's support for nursing programs, the CMD addressed concerns about potential declines in professional standards and shortages of nurses in healthcare institutions, reaffirming UBTH's dedication to addressing these challenges.

Among the notable executive members present were Otaigbe Queen Stella (Vice Chairperson), Esan I. Stella (Treasurer), Aigbovia Patience (Financial Secretary), Omoruyi A. Eunice (Auditor 1), and Comr. P. Esangbedo (State Auditor 1).
