The newly elected officials of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Students' Union, including the Students' Executives Council (SEC) and Hall Executives Council (HEC), recently convened for their first official meeting with the leadership of the Students' Affairs Division. The meeting was hosted by Prof. David Oke, the Dean of Students.

During the meeting, the President-Elect, Comrade Taiwo Abejoye, expressed the purpose of their gathering, which was to familiarize themselves with the Students' Affairs Division. He introduced the newly elected executives to the Division's leadership.

Speaking on behalf of the Students' Affairs Division, Dean Prof. David, supported by Subdean Dr. Okewale, commended the executives for their unity and advised them to prioritize negotiation and collaboration in their leadership approach. Emphasizing the importance of protecting the university's reputation, they encouraged the executives to uphold the institution's values.

In response, President-Elect Comrade Taiwo Abejoye thanked the Students' Affairs Division for their warm reception. He affirmed the executives' commitment to collaboration and working closely with the Division for the university's progress. Abejoye assured that the new executives would prioritize the welfare of the students and defend their interests without compromise.

"I will not compromise in defending the interests of the students," stated Abejoye. "The new executives will also not betray the trust which the students have in us. We will maintain the relevance of the Union even as we promote the brand of FUTA."

The newly elected leaders of the Students' Union reiterated their commitment to creating a FUTASU that caters to the needs of all students and works tirelessly for their welfare.
