The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has taken a significant step toward enhancing campus safety by inaugurating a security monitoring committee. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, emphasized the initiative’s importance during the inauguration ceremony, noting its role in protecting students, staff, and university assets.
Professor Mele explained that the committee, comprising officials from various university departments, will collaborate with the institution’s Security Division to adopt a comprehensive approach to safeguarding the campus environment.
The committee's chairman, Professor Shehu Usman Hassan, expressed gratitude to the university management for the opportunity to serve. He described the initiative as a proactive measure aimed at ensuring the safety of the university community while fostering a conducive learning atmosphere.
